CHARLOTTE
Kenneth G. Carr
Kenneth G. Carr, 47, of Port Charlotte, Fla., died Wednesday, July 16, 2008, in Punta Gorda, Fla.
He was born June 10, 1961, in Springfield, Mass.
Kenneth came to Port Charlotte from Springfield in 1969. He was a member of American Legion Post 110 of Port Charlotte.
He is survived by his mother, Barbara, and his stepfather, Frederick Chalone of Summerfield, Fla; also his stepfather, Raymond Dionne Sr. of Crescent City, Fla.; four brothers, William Carr, Scott Dionne, Raymond Dionne Jr. of Port Charlotte, and Perry Dionne of Summerfield; sister, Rose Pignatare of Brooksville, Fla.; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and close friends.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. today, Saturday, July 19, 2008, at Kays, Ponger & Uselton Funeral Homes, 2405 Harbor Blvd., Port Charlotte.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to TideWell Hospice and Palliative Care, 1144 Veronica St., Port Charlotte, FL 33952.

Marlene McIntyre
Marlene McIntyre, 61, of Port Charlotte, Fla., passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2008.
She was born Oct. 7, 1946, in Plainfield, N.J., the daughter of Harold and Madeline (nee Brown) Hawkins.
Marlene moved to Port Charlotte from New Jersey in 1991. She enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband of 34 years, John; daughters, Denise Korish of Sarasota, Fla., and Kelly (Eduardo) McIntyre-Velez of Port Charlotte; son, Bruce Ritchey of Port Charlotte; sister, Patricia (William) Ensinger of Venice, Fla.; brother, Harold Hawkins of Dunellen, N.J.; and two granddaughters.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, July 20, 2008, at Kays, Ponger & Uselton Funeral Homes, Port Charlotte Chapel. A service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 21, 2008, at San Antonio Catholic Church in Port Charlotte, with burial to follow at Restlawn Cemetery. Stanley L. Sherfick

Stanley Lee Sherfick, 88, of Punta Gorda, Fla., passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2008.
He was born Sept. 10, 1919, in Shoals, Ind., the son of Everett and Anna B. Sherfick.
Mr. Sherfick was a longtime resident of Indianapolis, Ind., before retiring to Heritage Lake, Ind., and subsequently moving to Punta Gorda, where he had lived for the last 14 years.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps, principally with the 47th Fighter Squadron in the Pacific theater. He was employed for many years at Chrysler Corp. in Indianapolis, working at both Chrysler's Shadeland Avenue Plant and the Chrysler Foundry in Indianapolis. Mr. Sherfick was a member of the Murat Shriners of Indianapolis, and the Southport Masonic Lodge 270, and he attended New Day Christian Church in Port Charlotte, Fla. Always an avid golfer, a good guy and a great Dad, he will be missed.
He was the husband of Patricia Sherfick of Punta Gorda; and father to a daughter, Geneane Lee (Donald) Kinnett of Fairland, Ind., and to a son, George R. (Emalie) Sherfick of Terre Haute, Ind. He is also survived by three brothers, Howard (Blume) Sherfick and Gene (Eldean) Sherfick, all of Shoals, Ind., and George S. (Jewel) Sherfick of Terre Haute; five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a grandchild.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, July 21, 2008, at Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Homes, Port Charlotte Chapel. A separate memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 26, 2008, at Shoals Christian Church, 602 Main St., Shoals. Inurnment will be private in Indianapolis.

Thaddeus O. Smith

Thaddeus O. Smith, 77, of El Jobean, Fla., died Tuesday, July 15, 2008, at Life Care Center in Punta Gorda, Fla.
He was born May 23, 1931, in Fremont, Mich.
Mr. Smith came to El Jobean in 1978 with his beloved wife, Lil Smith, who since has passed away, and his son, Thomas. He was an important member of the El Jobean community and a lifetime member of the Moose Lodge. He was loved by all he touched and will be dearly missed by all. Mr. Smith served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, in England, with the Air Police.
He is survived by his family, including his son, Thomas (Laurie) Smith; daughters, Dawn (Ernie) Nicther, Brenda Belstra, Debbie Bergez of Ludington, Mich., Judy Martinez of Virginia,, and Jeanne Coleson of Michigan; sister, Marlene (Carl) Hendrie of Fremont; and brother, Jon Carl (Sandy) of Palm Bay, Fla. He has also been blessed with 10 grandchildren, Nicole and Kriste Thompson of Florida, Thaddeus O. Smith II of Florida, Heather, Leah and Steve Belstra of Michigan, and Rita, Roger, Candy and Gina Bergez of Michigan; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at a later date.

Robert R. Trull
Robert R. Trull, 90, passed away Monday, July 14, 2008, in Lake Wales, Fla.
He was formerly of Midland, Mich. Robert was employed by Dow Chemical Company for many years and by Minigrip Chemicals of New York. He was active in a bridge club, a boat club, and volunteered with St. Vincent's, along with other organizations.
He is survived by his son, William "Willie" Trull of Lake Wales; son-in-law, Norman Vogel of Punta Gorda, Fla.; grandson, Robert Vogel of Punta Gorda; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Jean; and daughter, Linda Vogel.
A memorial service will be at a later date at Midland Memorial Gardens in Midland.
