Contest Ends: 5/22/2008
Mother's Day is coming twice this month in the Americas. May 10 in Mexico and May 11 in the United States and Canada. Here we want your best pictures sent to us by May 22. That's the deadline for this month's Picture This contest. The best photo will win a $50 gift certificate. Entries must be e-mailed as jpg attachments to picturethis@sun-herald.com by May 22. All the photos from May's entries will be posted after the judging on our Spotted Web site.

Here are the rules
|
(Entries that do not follow all rules will be disqualified)
|
(A) All photos must be shot in Sarasota, Charlotte, DeSoto or Lee county. They must be submitted through E-MAIL ONLY by the date specified above. Photos for that month's assignment submitted after that date will not be judged. E-mail to picturethis@sun-herald.com as jpg attachments. Send them as "full-size" photos not "saved for Web."

(B) Photos must be a minimum of 200 resolution. It may be higher, up to 300 dpi, but no lower. Pictures should be sized to 8 inches on the longest side.

(C) JPG format ONLY, medium to high quality.
|
(D) All submissions must have your name, address, phone number and details accompanying the photo. Details must have who, what, where, when, why it was taken. Please submit entries in regular typing style, not in all caps. Information should be as complete as possible including the names of the places the photos were taken, which town in which they were shot, the ages of the people, the date and time the photo was taken, etc. The photo must have been shot in the last few months and preferably in the month of the contest. (E) All submissions for the monthly contest must depict a facet of the given assignment.

(F) This month�s first place prize is a $50 gift credit card to
Dillards department store.
|
(G) Other entries will be published in the weekly Heralds along
with other entries that we liked. The winning photo will appear on the front of
the Our Town section during the last week of each within the last two weeks of the
month.
|
(H) A new assignment will be posted in our paper and on our community
websites at the beginning of the month.
|
(I) Sun Newspaper employees and their families are not eligible.
Professional photographers are also not eligible. The contest is open to those in
Charlotte, Sarasota and DeSoto counties.

(J) The same photographer is not eligible to win two months in
row.
|
(K) Entries will be judged by a panel of photographers from the
Sun photo department.
|
(L) More than one photo may be submitted for any given monthly
contest But only one photo will be accepted or picked for a contest. You have a
choice. You can edit your own entry and get it down to one photo to submit or we
can do it for you.
